About CBT for ADHD Groups
Dr. Mitchell leads weekly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy groups specifically adapted for ADHD. These sessions go beyond traditional CBT by addressing ADHD-specific thinking patterns, executive function challenges, and emotional dysregulation.
What You'll Learn:
- Identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns (catastrophizing, black-and-white thinking)
- Behavioral activation to overcome procrastination and avoidance
- Emotional regulation strategies for RSD and anger management
- Homework tracking and accountability with peer support
Evidence-Based: CBT has been shown to significantly improve ADHD symptom management, with effect sizes comparable to medication for some adults. Group CBT provides additional benefits through peer learning and social support.
